The “Flickering Threat” quest in ARC Raiders becomes much easier when you know the route before entering Dam Battlegrounds. A quick inventory check is useful as well, especially when organizing your ARC Raiders Items and other resources before deployment. The mission has two main objectives: repair a damaged generator and activate a backup power switch.

Start With Four Wires

Before deploying, make sure you have four Wires ready. The generator repair requires all four, so missing even one can prevent you from progressing normally.

If your inventory is short on Wires, you can collect them during your run. Several objects can also be dismantled to obtain the material, including Toasters, Power Banks, Acoustic Guitars, and Cooling Fans. Bringing the full amount from the beginning is still the easiest option because it allows you to focus on the quest rather than searching for extra supplies.

Enter the Power Generation Complex

Your first destination is the Power Generation Complex on the far northern side of Dam Battlegrounds. The quest objective is located underground inside the Generator Hall.

There are several ways to get into the hall. You can use the stairs near the northwest entrance and follow the tunnels down. Alternatively, you can carefully enter through gaps in the concrete roof. Both routes can take you toward the same objective, so use whichever entrance fits your current position.

Once you reach the underground hall, pay attention to the large turbine machinery. The damaged generator is located around the middle to back portion of the room, between the massive turbine units.

Repair the Broken Generator

Approach the damaged generator and look for the yellow interaction prompt. Once you interact with it, your four Wires will be used to repair the machine.

This part of the mission has an especially useful feature. You do not need to extract immediately after completing the repair. The generator repair functions as a checkpoint, so dying later will not force you to repeat the first objective.

That means you can treat the generator as an important progress marker. Once it is repaired, your attention can shift toward finding the second objective without worrying about losing the repair progress.

Leave the Underground Area

After repairing the generator, head back to the surface. The next location is the Ventilation Shaft, which is roughly 50 meters east and north of the generator area.

The building is a tall concrete structure with a partially collapsed appearance and a broken roof. It is positioned close to the North Complex Elevator extraction point, making that landmark useful for navigation.

Although the distance between the two objectives is fairly short, avoid moving carelessly. Enemy sentries may be active around the area, and the Rocketeer can also be encountered nearby. Checking your surroundings before entering the next building can help you avoid an unnecessary fight.

Find the Backup Switch

Enter the Ventilation Shaft and make your way down the stairs. The power switch is tucked underneath the stairs, inside the damaged building.

Look for the glowing switchboard or power box. Once you find it, interact with the switch to activate the backup power.

Flipping the switch completes the “Flickering Threat” quest. There are no additional repair steps required after this interaction, so the mission objective is finished as soon as the backup power is activated.

Claim the Rewards

After completing the quest, return to Speranza and speak with Celeste. She will provide the rewards associated with the completed mission.

The rewards include a Radio Renegade costume variant and helmet, along with free medium gun parts. You also receive three Advanced Mechanical Components.

These rewards make the quest useful even if your main goal is simply to progress through the available missions. The costume and helmet provide a cosmetic reward, while the components and gun parts can contribute to your wider inventory.

Remember the Two-Part Route

The easiest way to memorize “Flickering Threat” is to break it into two destinations. First, travel to the northern Power Generation Complex, enter the underground Generator Hall, and repair the damaged generator with four Wires. Then return to the surface and move toward the Ventilation Shaft to activate the switch underneath the stairs.

Preparing the required materials before deployment keeps the process simple, while the generator checkpoint gives you some protection against losing progress. Once the route becomes familiar, the quest should require much less searching and backtracking. For players preparing for additional runs, having enough ARC Raiders Coins available can also make it easier to manage future purchases and maintain a ready loadout.
