NC is putting Aion 2 through another important pre-launch test as the publisher opens its Scale Test to players on PC. The event is built around server and infrastructure preparation rather than permanent progression. Participants can explore Aion 2 Items and sample the game before Advanced Access, although many commercial and social systems are unavailable during the test.

An Open Invitation to Test

The Scale Test does not follow the traditional closed-test model. Players do not need a key, an invitation, or a place on a registration list. Anyone who wants to participate can enter during the scheduled testing periods.

The first window runs from 6 a.m. to noon PT on Thursday, September 17. The second takes place from noon to 6 p.m. PT on Friday, September 18. Both Steam and PURPLE players can take part, creating a broad pool of participants for NC to use when evaluating the service.

A Two-Day Progression Experiment

Although the event is temporary, NC has allowed progression to carry between the two testing sessions. This means players who advance their character during Day 1 can continue from the same point on Day 2.

That continuity ends when the test finishes. All progression is wiped at the end of the second session, and nothing transfers to Advanced Access or the global launch. Players therefore have freedom to experiment without worrying about creating a permanent character before the official release.

Commercial Features Stay Offline

The Scale Test excludes almost every system connected to purchases. The shop is unavailable, and players cannot use Quna, passes, memberships, or payment portals. No purchases of any kind can be completed during the event.

The game's trading environment is also shut down. Marketplace access, Quna exchange functionality, and player-to-player trading are disabled. Founder’s Pack items are unavailable as well. These restrictions make the test substantially different from the commercial version players will experience later.

A Controlled Level Range

The character level limit is set at 37. Players can progress within that range, but activities requiring higher levels cannot be accessed. This gives NC a defined section of the game to observe while preventing the test environment from expanding across the entire progression structure.

For players, the cap creates a clear short-term objective. Instead of trying to experience everything, participants can focus on understanding combat, movement, progression, exploration, and the available systems before the testing window closes.

Preparing for Advanced Access

The September 30 Advanced Access period will be the next major step. Players who purchase the appropriate Founder’s Pack can begin playing before the full global launch. Steam users should remember that the testing client will not carry forward automatically; the Playtest App must be uninstalled and AION 2 downloaded separately.

PURPLE users do not need to complete the same process. Preparing the correct client ahead of time can make the transition smoother when Advanced Access opens.

Permanent Progress Comes Later

The Scale Test is intentionally disconnected from the permanent game. Once the official release arrives, progression will matter much more because characters and their achievements will no longer be wiped at the end of a short event.

Players interested in accelerating that progression may eventually search for buy Aion 2 Items opportunities after the relevant systems become available. For the current test, however, the best use of the available time is learning the game and helping expose technical issues.

October Brings the Full Release

Aion 2 is scheduled for a global PC launch on October 5, with Founder’s Pack Advanced Access beginning on September 30. The timeline leaves only a short gap between the Scale Test and the game's permanent release phase.

That makes the current event an important checkpoint for both NC and players. While it does not preserve progress or activate every feature, it provides a practical look at the game's systems while giving NC valuable testing conditions before a much larger audience arrives.
