The have totally re-made their cornerback room this offseason. Part of the makeover took place Thursday, when the Chiefs signed Kaiir Elam. The deal was reported by , and it's a chance for Elam to try and revitalize his career. Elam was originally a first-round pick by the , the 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Florida. He was supposed to be a star on Trent Grisham Jersey the perimeter for Buffalo, but almost immediately, he was overtaken by late-round pick Christian Benford in the Bills' pecking order. Elam never really could regain a full spot back, and when he played, he didn't grade out favorably in any of the metrics. MORE: Elam did intercept two pa ses as a rookie with the Bills, but he didn't snatch another in his next two seasons. Before the 2025 season, the Bills sent Elam to the . He played 10 games in Dallas, including seven starts, and made 29 tackles with just a single pa s defensed. Elam concluded the 2025 campaign with the for four games. The 6-foot-1 Elam will turn 25 on May 5, so he's still on the young side for a guy who has already played four NFL seasons. The Chiefs certainly need the addition of cornerback depth, and Steve Spagnuolo will try to unlock some of Elam's untapped potential.
