Jump into ARC Raiders this week and you'll feel it straight away: fights don't play like they did a month ago. Patch 1.17.0 (Feb 23, 2026) rolled in with Shrouded Sky and basically told the bargain-loadout era to pack it up. For ages, people were running cheap kits, taking silly angles, and still deleting stacked squads like it was nothing. Now you actually have to think about what you're bringing in, how you're pacing shots, and which ARC Raiders Items are worth risking when you drop into PvP hotspots.

Cheap Kings Get Checked

The Stitcher and the Kettle finally got dragged back to reality. The Stitcher's headshot multiplier fell hard, from 2.5x to 1.75x, and its base damage slid from 7 to 6.5. On paper that looks small, but in real fights it's huge because the bloom now punishes lazy spraying. You can't just hold mouse-one in tight corridors and hope the game does the work. If you miss that first burst, you're probably eating someone else's. The Kettle also took a hit, dropping from 10 to 8.5 base damage. It'll still reward clean tracking and good timing, but it's less of a panic button when Spaceport turns into a third-party festival.

Premium Guns Start Feeling Premium

What's nice is the patch didn't only take toys away. A few higher-tier picks got real quality-of-life love, the kind you notice without staring at patch notes. Jupiter feels smoother in the hands now, with better ADS magnification and quicker equip time, so mid-range duels don't feel like you're wrestling your own weapon. Aphelion is the standout: faster reload, faster fire rate, and less vertical climb makes it far more consistent when you're trying to keep distance and punish peeks. Venator's damage got nudged down, sure, but it doesn't feel "killed." It just stops being the obvious answer every single time.

Economy, Utility, and Fair Play

The crafting loop also got tightened up. Wolfpack grenade spam for easy ARC clears is basically gone because you now need a Rocketeer Drive along with Tick Pods, which slows that whole farm-and-print routine. ARC Parts selling for less is another clear message: stop treating them like a cash printer and start using them to progress. Vita Spray changing to continuous healing sounds minor, but it cuts down on some messy mid-fight burst timing that people were abusing. Add smoother vaulting, smarter ARC behaviour, and the hard block on NVIDIA Freestyle filters, and the game reads cleaner in a firefight.

What Players Should Do Next

The mood's split, and yeah, you can feel it in every lobby. Some players miss the cheap meta because it let them punch way above their gear; others are happy that expensive loot finally earns its price tag. Either way, spray-and-pray isn't carrying anyone now, so positioning and discipline matter more than ever. If you're rebuilding your stash after a rough night, plenty of folks also top up safely through U4GM for currency and item options, then test new loadouts without burning weeks of progress.
