Tired of always running low on Dark And Darker Gold and never having decent gear? I’ve been there – died countless times with trash kits. But after tons of trial and error, I finally put together a Smite Cleric setup that’s cheap, hits all the right stat breakpoints, and works for both PvP and bosses. Today I’m sharing my exact build so you can stop wasting runs.
1. Helmet First: Great Helm – 600 Gold
Grab a Great Helm as your priority. They often pop up cheap on the market – around 600 gold. Solid defense, and you can easily find rolls with Knowledge or Vigor.
2. Core Stats: Knowledge + Vigor – Ignore the Rest
Focus these two on every piece: Holy Robe, Plate Pants, Buckled Boots. Knowledge boosts casting speed and spell memory; Vigor gives health. Plate Pants already have Vigor, so add Knowledge there. Gloves (heavy or light) also need Knowledge and Vigor.
3. Gems: Diamonds Are Your Best Friend
Rubies and Sapphires are way too expensive – avoid them. Diamonds and Emeralds are cheap and work fine. Always gem with diamonds if you can.
4. Stat Targets: 145 HP, 20 Action Speed, 45 Cast Speed, 45% PDR
This budget kit easily hits: 145 Health, 20 Action Speed (weapons and Holy Water push it higher), 45+ Cast Speed, and 45% Physical Damage Reduction. Physical Power should stay neutral – never negative.
5. Holy Water – Game Changer, but Watch Knowledge
Holy Water gives +2 All Attributes – huge boost to casting speed and health. Crucial tip: keep Knowledge under 38. Why? Below 40, each Knowledge point gives 4 Cast Speed from your buff; above 40, it drops to only 1. So 38 is the sweet spot.
6. Weapons: Morning Star + Healer Shield + Spellbook – Don’t Cheap Out
Morning Star needs PDR, Action Speed, and additional damage. Shield similar. Spellbook must have Cast Speed. These three pieces deliver the most value – invest here.
7. Combat Tactics: Kite + Heal – Outlast Everyone
Against Barbarians, Warlocks, or Rangers, use Bind to control, Holy Strike to chip, and heals to sustain. Kite melee fighters and let your recovery win the war. This build can also solo bosses – something my old Judgment Cleric never could.
8. If You’re Still Short – Buy Dark and Darker Gold or Items
If RNG isn’t kind or you just want to skip the grind, you can always buy Dark And Darker Gold to grab missing pieces. Or check the market for buy dark and darker items – just remember, this is a budget build, so don’t overpay for flashy stats you don’t need.
9. Who Is This For?
Budget‑minded players who want a Smite Cleric that can PvP and boss without breaking the bank. Perfect for solo or duo players who value efficiency.
10. Quick Tips
- Prioritize helmet and cloak first – biggest stat gains.
- Carry Bind against rogues and rangers.
- Save heals for bosses – don’t spam.
- Sell junk after every run – it adds up.
Your Core Takeaway
- Grinders: Build this kit free – zero gold spent.
- Low‑spenders: Use a little dark and darker gold to fill gaps.
- Whales: You can buy dark and darker items directly – but now you know exactly which stats are worth your real money.
