The main challenge in MapleStory Classic World's The Journey Begins event is not the 30-Maple-Leaf cost itself, but fitting daily progress around account limits, monster levels, and short item timers. If your character is level 10 or higher, the Maple Administrator in Henesys or Kerning City starts the routine, while your broader MapleStory Global Mesos plans may determine how much time you can spare for hunting. The event runs from October 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM UTC through November 18 at 11:59 PM UTC, and each account can check in only once per day.
Build a reliable Maple Leaf route
Maple Leaves come from eligible monsters at level 10 or above, so low-level creatures such as snails, slimes, and Orange Mushrooms are not useful for this event. You need to collect the leaves yourself because they cannot be traded. The best location depends on where your character can hunt comfortably rather than on a universal route.
Use Line 1 Area 1 near Kerning City if level 15 Bubblings fit your character's hunting ability.
Consider Ant Tunnel III near Sleepywood for Zombie Mushrooms and Horny Mushrooms.
Check your leaf total before returning to the Maple Administrator.
Keep the hunting route separate from areas filled with monsters below the event level requirement.
These locations give you clearly eligible targets, but access, damage, movement, and crowding can still affect the practical choice. A weaker character may spend less time by staying in a safer area, while a stronger character can select whichever route connects more naturally with other goals. Since the event uses an account-wide check-in, collecting leaves on one character does not let another character claim a second reward that day.
Use the 14-check-in schedule without wasting rewards
The event provides 14 rewards in a fixed order, and missed days do not erase progress. With 29 calendar dates available, you have room for several missed sessions, though delaying every check-in creates unnecessary pressure near the deadline. The first reward contains a Snail pet, 30 Pet Food, 30 Red Potions, and 30 Blue Potions. Later rewards include Safety Charms, Blue Potions, a Regular Store Permit, Return Scrolls, Megaphones, Cakes, Atmospheric Effect Boxes, another Store Permit, and Item Megaphones.
Reward timing matters because not every item lasts indefinitely. The Snail pet remains available until the event ends and cannot be revived. Pet Food lasts 30 days, many other rewards expire after seven days, and Red Potions plus Blue Potions are permanent. Some rewards can be traded within the world, but the pet, Safety Charms, Store Permits, and Megaphones cannot.
Start the routine early so the 14th check-in does not depend on the final event dates.
Use short-duration rewards when they match an immediate character need.
Save permanent potions for a character that can make practical use of them.
Do not expect tradable access for the pet, charms, permits, or megaphones.
The fixed order makes the event easier to plan: progress is more important than waiting for a preferred item. If your schedule is uneven, claim the next available reward whenever you can and treat the seven-day timers as part of your inventory planning.
Add the side content when your level supports it
Characters at level 25 or higher can speak with Jay in Henesys for The Marks We Leave Behind. This six-quest chain ends with the tradable Mark of the Beta hat, which provides 24 weapon defense, one point in each main stat, and seven upgrade slots. It is a separate objective, so it can serve as a useful reason to visit Henesys without changing your Maple Leaf routine.
Coconut Harvest also offers a short event opportunity with Paul in Lith Harbor on November 6 from midnight to 2:00 AM UTC. Participants receive an Event Trophy, while winners receive a Scroll of Secrets that can be exchanged and opened for a random reward. From October 28 through November 18, monsters level 10 or higher also drop Halloween Candies, allowing both event materials to be collected during the same hunting session.
Choose your daily commitment before spending resources
A practical plan is simple: select an eligible hunting area, gather 30 leaves, check in once per account, and review the next reward's expiry before ending the session. Players considering whether to buy MapleStory GMS Mesos should still prioritize the event's account limit and item timers, since extra currency does not replace the required daily check-in or create additional reward claims.
